In keeping with our summer theme, and in this heat of the northeast, the idea of cool waters is soothing to my mind and spirit. The stone that immediately comes to mind is Aquamarine, that gorgeous aqua blue gemstone that is also the March birthstone.
Aquamarine is part of the beryl family, along with emeralds and morganite. Oftentimes, beads sold as morganite or aquamarine in pastel colors are, more accurately, beryl in these various shades of color.
Aquamarine is thought to help inspire truth and trust. It is a symbol of water and excellent to use in meditation. I have worn an aquamarine bracelet for over a year now. Not only do I love the color, but I know it is useful as a reminder for me to speak up, to convey my truth, in a kind and peaceful manner. When I look at it, I am reminded that my voice is important and I need to use it when I see a wrong or something goes against my values. It also reminds me to speak my mind in a compassionate way.
